Christmas, 2013

Our 2013 Christmas Program, at which we’ll distribute food cards, clothing, toys, and other gifts to needy families in our community, will be held Saturday, December 14, at Vienna Presbyterian Church.

At last year’s program we were able to help more than 300 families. We expect even more this year.

What’s that you said? Did you ask how you can help? Well, we’re glad you asked!

  • We need donations of food cards for adults, gift cards for teens, new toys for children aged 0 to 12, bicycles in good condition, and new or like new clothing for all ages. Donations should be unwrapped and — except for clothing and bikes — should be brought to Vienna Presbyterian Church on Friday morning, December 13; clothing can be delivered to the CHO Clothes Closet any Monday morning. Information on donating bikes is available here.
  • We need groups or families who are willing to “adopt” needy client families.
  • And finally, we need volunteers to help set up the “store” on Friday, December 13, starting at 9:00 am, and to help guide clients through the store on Saturday, December 14, starting at 8:30.

If you have questions or if you’d like to volunteer for the event, please call Carolyn Mysel at 703-938-7213 .
