About the Committee for Helping Others (CHO)
CHO is an all-volunteer organization that was organized in 1969 by a group of concerned churches and individuals in the Vienna, Oakton, Dunn Loring, and Merrifield area to provide simple, loving charity to those in need of goods and services they were unable to provide for themselves or obtain from government social service organizations.
CHO is governed by a board of directors comprised of representatives of each of the member organizations, elected officers, and no more than five directors-at-large. Board meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Vienna Presbyterian Church, 124 Park Street, NE, Vienna, VA 22180, and are open to anyone interested in our objectives. The executive committee, which meets at the call of the chairman, may act on matters arising between board meetings or as authorized by the full board.
